A Secret Kept (de Rosnay)

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I struggled to get into it at first but once I did, I finished in less than 2 days. This is a story of forgotten memories and learning the truth in your family history…and also learning to accept the current family truths that have been hidden from you. It is a wonderful study of a broken family; the way the siblings maintained a strong bond while their father proceeded to erase his old life and how they maintained the bond through their own difficulties in adulthood. It also showed an interesting side of divorce, one in which one party was still very much in love with his former spouse and who also has a difficult time communicating with his teenage children once the family unit has been broken. Overall it is a mystery of sorts regarding their mother, but the siblings work through alot of other issues and really learn who they are in the process.
