Great story. My mom said I’d read it in just a couple days…I guess she knows me well. I was left wanting more. Set in 1993 with a majority of the book flashing back to World War II, I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys somewhat modern historical romances or enjoys the idea of second chances and secret lives.
What a fun book! I really enjoyed this graphic novel about the Carter Family. I would’ve enjoyed it in type just as well probably, because I am a big fan of them and their story. However, the graphic novel concept was neat and I think draws in more modern readers to learn a little country music history. Highly recommended (even if you don’t know who they are…you should).
This book was a very slow read for me. Some of the stories, especially the first few, really didn’t draw me in. Others were quite good and left me wanting more. So for me, this book is a toss-up. I probably wouldn’t recommend it.
An excellent explanation of the idea of God to children for parents with open minds. My son and I really enjoyed it. It may seem like it’s geared towards younger children since it’s a picture book, but I found it to be appropriate for my 9 year old still. Sometimes big concepts need space to allow for our own thinking.
My mom gave us a sprouter kit for Christmas and this is my first try. Look after only 36 hours I have very evident sprouts! I will update throughout the process. The sprouter is the Victorio 4-tray kitchen seed sprouter.
